About the Initiative for Inclusive Entrepreneurship (IIE)

The Initiative for Inclusive Entrepreneurship (IIE) is a national effort to expand access to capital for underrepresented emerging fund managers and small business owners. IIE seeks to harness the power of public-private-philanthropic collaboration to ensure that the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s $10 billion State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) strengthens the small business ecosystem and advances racial equity.

IIE.VC Program Manager Role (Contract)

SomosVC is looking for a self-driven, passionate, entrepreneurial, and operations-focused SSBCI Program Manager to lead the planning and execution of our programs. This individual will work closely with SomosVC’s Executive Director and Director of Program Operations & Marketing to develop and deploy educational programs and resources that enable more Latino/a General Partners (GPs) to learn, apply, and successfully access SSBCI funds.

As part of the consortium of organizations playing an active role in the Initiative for Inclusive Entrepreneurship’s High-Growth (Venture Capital) vertical, SomosVC is working to help emerging fund managers create venture capital funds with $2B+ in assets under management (AUM) by 2025.

This role is a great fit for someone interested in joining a quickly-growing nonprofit organization that’s meaningfully making venture capital more inclusive. The IIE Program Manager will have the autonomy to lead programs, manage relevant partnerships, and engage with key cross-sector stakeholders. This position is an 3-month contract with an option to extend.

Job Responsibilities:

• Recruits and cultivates a pipeline of GPs who are interested in IIE funds in the collaborative’s targeted states
• Assists in cultivating net new Limited Partner (LP) and GP relationships to help drive the IIE’s capital match requirements in the collaborative’s targeted states
• Serves as the primary point of contact for IIE cross-sector program participants
• Develops and deploys initiatives to measure the effectiveness of SomosVC’s SSBCI initiatives
• Represents SomosVC occasionally at conferences or in new business development activities
• Spearheads other administrative and operational work as necessary to enable excellent IIE program delivery
• Creates and supports branding and public communications efforts connected to the visibility and awareness of the existence and benefits of SSBCI funds in the collaborative’s targeted states including in our newsletter, social media, and events
• Supports the executive director in creating data and insights to be shared with the collaborative, SomosVC stakeholders, and the broader community, per Scope of Work and grant agreement
• Supports and provides policy expertise to the ED and broader community to drive and effectuate policy changes that are more reflective of the Latino/a GP community’s needs in the collaborative’s targeted states
